My name is Mary Kathryn Spitzer but I go by Katy. I'm 26 years old and from Yorktown, Va. This is my second semester at Thomas Nelson Community College and I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet, but I hear that's pretty normal. I was a chef in fine dining kitchens for 9 years before I decided to go back to school. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot of cool things. One of my favorite things to cook is BBQ. Not exactly fine dining but there is something so wonderful about throwing some ribs and pork butts on the smoker all day and throwing back a few beers with friends. The finished product is always a crowd pleaser. I have 3 beautiful children (dogs) named Leeloo, Rocket, and Demo and they are the loves of my life, along with my sweet husband of course. About 5 years ago I re-ignighted my love for all things athletic and started running again and since then I have finished 3 Tough Mudders, 3 Half Marathons, and 4 Full Marathons. My favorite place is anywhere with a beach. I was lucky enough to travel to Barbados with my husband last summer and I could have stayed there forever. With any luck and lots of hard work, island life will hopefully be a part of my future. That's me in a nutshell. This webpage contains a collection of my English 111 works and some pictures that I feel best describe my life, as well as a few helpful resources for studying.
